Woo Hoo We're Here
So we arrived in LA at 6.30am and what does one do to stay awake as long as possible? Universal Studios!
Firstly to stop at the hotel though. I'd paid for the room for the night before we arrived so it was guaranteed when we arrived. Right in the heart of Hollywood, roomy and at $129 a night for three adults, Hollywood Orchid Suites was a great choice. Quick showers and we were ready to tackle the day....jet lag and all.
The metro was 2 minutes from our hotel and a simple ride on the redline to Universal City brought us to the shuttle bus that takes you up the hill to the entrance. Glad we decided not to walk up the hill! We bought a 7 day tap travel pass for $20 and this covers our week of metro and buses in LA. We bought a 2 day entry for Universal Studios online before we left home and essentially got the second day for free.
First meal in the U.S. Pinky's chili dog and fries and yes the chili dripped all over my white jacket! I can feel the fat coming.
